Clean lines and open spaces define this unique home. The interior is flooded
by natural light which highlights custom designed elements throughout. The
rear patio opens onto beautiful waterfront vistas.
Modern esthetics and natural building elements combine with great effect in
this one of a kind home. A strong Scandinavian influence reflects the owner's
personal tastes. With so many specialized details to feature, this home is truly
unique.
MLH is noted for our custom carpentry and attention to detail. This home
showcases many custom features. They include column details, coffered
ceilings, built-ins and a rear lanai porch.
The Midtowns are a unique group of eight townhomes located near Britannia
Park. These modernist units were considered by some to be a little too
progressive for the Ottawa market. The units take their cue from the walk-up
townhouses of Montreal. The front facade features monolithic concrete steps
that ascend a full storey. The rest of the exterior is clad with galvalume siding,
cedar and concrete board.
The exterior of this home offers some Craftsman elements but the interior is all
modern. Clean lines from the kitchen to the custom concrete fireplace surround
enhance the modern feel. A one-of-a-kind custom welded steel railing is a
significant interior feature.
This urban infill home posed very difficult design and construction
challenges. The plan called for a 2200 sq. ft. home to be built on a very tight
lot and the new structure was to abut on existing home on a third level. The
collaboration between the clients and MLH produced a unique home that
even exceeded the expectations of a few city planners.
This craftsman-styled home features all the elements of that period. The
interior however is wide open and bright. A custom stone wood-burning
fireplace is the focal point of the main floor. The exterior deck and
screened-in porch is typical of MLH's fully integrated building approach.

Nestled on a wooded lot, this craftsman-styled home showcases Maple
Leaf's custom woodworking. Coffered ceilings in the dining room coupled
with a stone two-way fireplace give the living space a rich and cozy feel.
The custom built cedar posts and tongue and groove ceiling on the porch
lend themselves to the surrounding forest.
This custom-built fully accessible home comes complete with its own
elevator. A curved exterior wall of windows and curved fireplace is not
only architecturally pleasing to the eye, but provides plenty of natural light
and warmth to the living space.
MLH's fine carpentry skills are showcased in this custom built home. A
warming fireplace in the screened-in porch and open concept living space
are just some of the highlights of this beautiful home.
